We are proud to present the annual reports of the Academic Collaborative Centers. In 2024, we worked with societal partners on innovative solutions to complex challenges that contribute to broad prosperity. From governance for broad prosperity to the energy transition, inclusive labor, and mental wellbeing. Each report highlights the key issues, the co-creation process, and the outcomes.

|
How can technology be used smartly to improve care? The program AI for healthcare professionals, part of the university’s professional education offering, helps care providers and therapists apply large language models and language technology in practice. |

Five We Care projects receive funding
|
As part of the We Care program, five research projects have been awarded funding. We Care is a strategic collaboration between Tilburg University and Elisabeth-TweeSteden Hospital (ETZ) to promote joint scientific research. The projects focus on digitalization, autonomy, and self-direction in healthcare.

Collaborating and inspiring for an inclusive labor market
|
Researchers and practice partners came together during an interactive co-creation session as part of the implementation of the knowledge agenda.
Based on proposals from a call for ideas, they collaboratively worked on themes ranging from inclusive technology to diversity policy. In-depth inspiration sessions provided additional insights into inclusive employment and gender inequality in the labor market. |

How do Tilburg University students perceive work?
|
Students want meaningful work, a good salary, and opportunities for development, but are concerned about workload and technology. PhD candidate Ruud Lathouwers mapped their perspectives in a broad study of 350 students. |

Six million euros in EU funding for Tilburg’s ‘BatteREstore’ project
|
In collaboration with the Academic Collaborative Center for Climate and Energy, the BatteREstore project is being carried out. It focuses on reusing batteries for circular energy storage on construction sites and in residential neighborhoods. The project received six million euros in European funding. |
