Position paper: Working on broad prosperity |
The Broad Prosperity Program is proud to present the position paper Working on broad prosperity; Together towards a future-proof world. During the opening of the pop-up workshop on October 5 and in a festive manner, the position paper will be handed to Marike Knoef, Dean of TiSEM and sponsor of the program. The paper was also presented to the political parties of the Netherlands with the invitation, with imminent elections, to discuss it together. |

The Government Committee on Demographic Developments makes working visits with academic collaborative centers |
The Government Committee on Demographic Developments 2050, together with Academic Collaborative Centers of the Program for Broad Prosperity of Tilburg University and other experts in the region, paid working visits to Brainport Eindhoven and City Region Parkstad Limburg. The purpose of the working visits was to identify societal issues in the region and assess them in the context of broad prosperity. |

October 5: Knowledge session on the science test Energy Act |
Full Professors Saskia Lavrijssen (Tilburg University) and Machiel Mulder (University of Groningen) were invited to do a science test on the Energy Act. On Thursday, September 14, they presented their analysis of the Act to the House of Representatives, focusing on the position of consumers. Saskia Lavrijssen and several colleagues will share their findings with the Academic Collaborative Center in an online knowledge session on October 5 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Interested? Post-doctoral researcher Wessel Ganzevoort |
Wessel Ganzevoort started at the Collaborative Center in August, where he will focus on research on citizen participation. Wessel wrote his thesis on green volunteering: the profile, motivations, and experiences of people committed to nature. He is excited to work on the same issues within the climate and energy domain. |

New partner: Association of Homeowners (Vereniging Eigen Huis) |
The Association of Homeowners officially joins as a partner of the Academic Collaborative Center for Climate and Energy. With this, homeowners are also represented in the Collaborative Center. With this addition, 13 parties are currently working together in the Collaborative Center. In addition to Tilburg University, these include Alliander, Avans, Enexis, Essent, Tilburg Municipality, Heijmans, Midpoint Brabant, Pon-Telos, Province of North Brabant, Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland, Stedin, and the Association of Homeowners. |

Digital health minor coming up |
Introducing students to the deployment and use of digital technology in health. That is the goal of the digital health minor being developed by several Tilburg University Schools (TSB, TLS, TSHD, and TiSEM). Partners of the Academic Collaborative Center will be actively involved in the minor in the form of guest lectures and challenge-based learning. The intention is to start the minor in the academic year of 2024/2025. |

Post-doctoral researcher Kim Tenfelde |
In December, Kim Tenfelde will start as post-doctoral researcher of Digital Health & Mental Wellbeing at the Academic Collaborative Center with the same name. As a PhD researcher at Tilburg University, she is conducting research with the Elisabeth-TweeSteden Hospital (ETZ) on the experiences of patients with lower socioeconomic status, digital health technologies and communication with the healthcare provider. This should ultimately lead to more equality in the consulting room and health care. |

Research on the Gen-Z generation and their attitudes toward the labor market |
People in their twenties are working part-time much more often, Brabants Dagblad writes, mainly to have the freedom to do what is important to them. This trend compares poorly with the situation on the labor market and the aging population. This is one of the reasons why Tilburg University has plans to conduct research from the Academic Collaborative Center with various parties on the Gen-Z generation (born between 1995 and 2012) and their attitude toward the labor market. |

October 5, 2023: Opening pop-up workplace |
A place where proximity stimulates creativity, collaboration fuels ideas, and connection drives social impact. That is the pop-up collaborative center in TIAS (T111/T112), a physical meeting place of Tilburg University's academic collaborative centers where the Broad Prosperity program is taking shape. Researchers, students, and partners of the collaborative centers are welcome to come and work. On Thursday, October 5, at 4:30 p.m., the pop-up workplace will be opened in a festive manner, and the position paper 'Working on broad prosperity' will be handled to Marike Knoef. |

Tilburg University and Tilburg Municipality develop joint research program for broad prosperity |
Tilburg University and the Tilburg Municipality have jointly adopted an action plan for a co-creative research program for broad prosperity in the neighborhood and in business. This program is part of the agreements between the municipality and the university to take collaboration to an even higher level. In this way, the parties contribute to Tilburg Knowledge City and contribute to the movement to grow from a city with a university to a university city. |

In Open to Complexity: Symposium on Open Science in the Social Sciences and Humanities, scholars and policymakers gathered to reflect on the creation and implementation of open science. In the roundtable discussion, Esther van Vliet (project manager academic collaborative centers) shared her vision on public engagement in research and engaged in a discussion with the attendees. |

Broad prosperity the central concept in Brabant coalition agreement |
"Together we make Brabant!": that is the title of the North Brabant Administrative Agreement 2023–2027. The Administrative Agreement sets out the course and vision for the period 2023–2027, in which the administration of the Province of North Brabant is committed to strengthening the broad prosperity of all Brabant inhabitants in the coming period. |
